I have a 2000 dakota 3.9l i am trying to change the transfer case in. I have both drive shafts off, the wiring, shifter, hose, and the 6 nuts off of the studs but i can't get the transfer case to seperate from the transmission, any suggestions?
Take off the skirt and put some muscle into it. Just giving you a hard time, Make sure everything is off and give it a little juice from an extended crowbar and see if things loosen up a bit.
wow that's weird... just did mine and it slid right out. what did you use for the upper bolts? I found that a chevy distributor wrech worked perfect... could put the wrench on it and then you have a 90* bend in it to grab on to. next time around it'll be a piece of cake to yank out. should be able to get it out in under an hour I'd think.
it was an easy change just didnt wanna seperate, i used a small 9/16 wrench to get the top bolts out. the wrench you used was a good idea just didnt have one here, i thought about it tho.
