Hello all,

I know this is a want to buy post but I thought I might have a little more luch from someone here. My tailgate was stolen from my 02 Dakota and now I'm in search of a new (used) one. Does anyone know of a good place to purchase an aftermarket tailgate for a reasonable price? I don't have a ton of cash... I'm in Columbus Ohio.

but maybe try a junkyard and you might luck out and find one in your colour. 97-04 will fit yours.

 

i got a tailgate for my 88 at a junkyard for 20$. call around salvage yards and see if they have any, if its the wrong color, you could get it painted or do it yourself. there's always the stealership... but be prepared to spend like 500$

 

I know it's a bit too late, but you should invest in a Gate Keeper for your replacement... A set of Jimmi Jammers wouldn't hurt to protect your door handles either...

a little more expensive than the junkyard but its brand new and you dont have to deal with the dealership.

 

If you don't mind used check out LKQ Triplett of Akron (Ohio) They have a parts locator and can get almost anything for the dakota. They might even have a distributor in the columbus area. They should have links on their site to the other distributors if not they will ship parts to you.
