I second 02Dakota06Yamaha on the battery. I had same problem of stalling at stop/lights. Didn’t think it could be battery as you figured alternator would take care of load. This went on for days and I was getting real frustrated. Messed with IAC too. Got a new battery and presto.
the relay should be about 9 bucks at the autoparts store and you shbouldnt need to replace the cooiling realy unless you either want to or are having issues with the e-fan
I am going to change the fuel pump and see if that fixes the problem and hopefully that is it, changed the engine management relay and if cut off before i could get ou the parking lot so hopefully
What a coincidence my friend justcalled upwith the same problem! I was thinking IAC also but I dont know where its located, im new to dodges, ive worked on lots of fords their IAC is a remove-tear apart-clean-reinstall item, usually that fixes the low idle problem on a ford. Is the IAC on a dodge a remove & replace item or is it repairable ? His dakota is a 1998 with a 5.2L engine. I already called him back about the tip to check the trans fluid level.
i would just change it i have had idling problems and just tried to clean it but it came back, best bet is to change it, but if he finds something different please post i am still scratching my head
