Default 04 v6 hesitating

I Just bought a 04 v6 4x4 dakota, with 27000 miles.Lately when driving at 45mph+ the truck hesitates if i slowly accelerate. And the faster i go say highway speeds it does it more so. I have been toldbuy a ford dealer that it was the coil packs (I bought thetruck from a ford dealer and have a ford warranty). Any thoughts on if that might be the problem? and how much of a pain isit to change them.

check with dodge service.ford service probably doesn't have a clue-if they did they wouldn't be working for ford.

+1, and i would try cleaning the throttle body out, and maybe some fuel injector cleaner in the tank, and maybe a clean air filter(if it hasnt been done) and check the gap on the spark plugs against the manual(i think its .40" at least on mine it is) and let us know whats up(none of this can hurt nor is it expensive)

mine does the same thing . i took it to a dodge dealer and they said that it doesn't do it for them. i have been complaining since i bought mine back in may. they said my trans fluid needed to be replaced . my truck had 20000 at the time .
i did all that and nothing fixed it . i was told to bring it in when the light comes on.

I too have the same problem. I posted earlier about my service engine light coming on due to a fault with one of the o2 sensors. I went to Napa today to get a price on one of them and they are $25 a piece so i said what the hay might as well replace all 4 of them. If this doen't solve the problem i guess i'll have to see about doing what shrpshtr325 said. I alsohad a buddy of mine who had a similiar problem with a 5.3 Chevrolet. It was really weak during accleration, so we started checking plugs, the air filter, o2 sensors, and we took the intake tube of to see if anything could have possibly caused a blockage or leakof some sort. For some reason my friend decided that he was going to start unplugging wires to see what would happen. I know I know not exactly the best diagnostic method recommended. Anyway he pulled the plug ont he MAP sensor and fired his truck up, and to our surprise the thing ran stronger than it ever has. Well enough of my rambling. Let me know how things turn out so I can decide whether or not i want to tear into mine or not>

Well a little update I was going to order a couple coil packs from advance auto. But i checked with the dealer on the price of there coils and they were $5 cheaper. Anyway i went to go pick them up and started talking with a couple mechanics and they said that the ciols rarely go bad so soon. so he plugged the computer into it and said that cylinder 1 and 5 were misfiring. He said change the plugs first he said that sounds to be the problem and if not then you know that the coils on one and five maybe bad. Plus it could save me $60. I plan on changing them this weekend. I will update you when i figure it out.
