which ever you get, drop the extra cash and get a 1080pi over the 7?0pi. plasmas do need to be proke in properly. but their life span is misunderstood. they have a 10yr life span. but thats 10 years of continous play. plasmas and lcd's are a toss up. both are great. DLP are great for rooms that get a lot of sunlight. the dlp putts out more light the the lcd or plasma. i rock a 57" Samsung DLP. i've had it for about 5 yrs now. i had to replace the color wheel once($300), but other then that, its great. make sure you go with a good brand like sumsung, sony, toshiba, etc. LG makes a lot of the technology that goes into the plasmas and lcd's, where as texas instruments makes dlp. go big, and get 1080pi.

rock on!
