Very Important !
A I still drive like an idiot alot i am just trying to pass on some sugestions, what he has planed sounds sweat i am just saying that I would recomend waiting on the turbo's for a couple of years and i know how teenage guys can act and it just gets worse the more power that is added. And by the way the 3.9 has gotten me in enoght trouble 110mph in a 60mph marked down to 68mph that is only what 160rwhp, 115mph in a civic which is where the governer is.
The main reason i said that it is not a good idea(although i am still trying to change how i drive i get better every day tho, and both of those speeds were before my friend died) is a good friend died 3 years ago racing his turbo charge s-10 whith an ls1 motor. From whitnise reports they said the someone pulled out in front of him, he tried to miss and fliped the truck going about 100mph so do not say he is full of ***** beath is real and it happens to way to many young peolpe.
Sorry for that but I mean I do have a reason to say it is not a good idea.

i agree with clever but im 19 too and just started college and getting a true taste of reality, would love to do what 01dakr/t is doing but my main concern is getting my poor old v6 running back at around 18 mpg instead of 13.7 babying the **** out of it on the highway doing about 75 mph, not even flooring it and a lot of it is downhill too, but my adive to you buddy
stroke it out to a 408, get ready to have that trans rebuilt, dodge transmissions are very tempermental and anything close to their rated maximum power capacity will just kill them, hell from a CAI and a Cat back exhaust on my v6 wiped out the torque converter in mine, threw a thrust washer, wiped out the transmission, anyway, have that thing built up with whatever you can afford, mine was about $2500-2600 with all new high performance clutch packs, HD torque converter and a brand new overdrive unit. the rebuilder let me off and for each clutch pack only charged me for a single clutch out of each pack, last i remmeber each clutch disc was about $10 a piece and theres like 4-6 discs in each pack and about 5 packs total, thats me jsut trying to remember but im pretty close to it... god to be a sophomore again, jsut getting my liscense, done some pretty stupid stuff with my cirrus, wiped out 2 transmissions and got my truck a year later, good luck to ya. once that truck is done, keep that thing under wraps until the right moment calls for it, you earn a hell of a lot of respect, and make sure your rear differential is in good enough shape to handle all the extra horses, if theres a few chunks of metal in that pumpkin, might as well have that rebuilt too, wont last long with a lead foot

what the hell does testosterone have to do with any of this? i'm 22, it wasnt THAT long ago i drove like an idiot all the time and wrecked once. that dak's gonna be totalled before too long. in fact "cleverusername", you offered him no advice at all on upgrading performance. at least i told him he better have forged internals before he pushes alot of boost. which by the way, 12 psi of boost on a 360 is more than enough to take an srt4. i'd go supercharged. just buy a paxton kit and get it installed.
When I first got my dakota I got brand new pirellies put on it. Lets say about 3months later I needed all new ones. For my first vehicle my truck isn't that bad. 5.2L V8 Flowmaster exhaust, K&N. Being young comes with its prices. You learn about **** NOT to do. The more power you have, most of the time means the more of a dick your going to be with it. Its like the people with lambos and cars like that. You can tell who takes care of their vehicle. To be honest, racing (illegal racing) like on highways is stupid. You may think your cool, but something could happen that could totally screw everything up. Don't drive to race, drive to drive. Not trying to be an ***, just my opinion on things.

P.S. TUNERS SUCK

I have a friend, that can build you a twin turbo kit. If you want more details email or pm me.
Have you ever heard of the Speedtweaks Twin Turbo Dakota?
Google it, running TTs on a Stock 360, not even fulley tuned and was whipping the boards clean, imagine it with a 408 running 10-20psi
also another note, a SRT4 running 18 is good, yes, i got 3 links on me from one running 18psi on the highway. He is now spiking the turbo at 24lbs and maxing out at 22lbs by 4th, his **** is crazy all done with a stock turbo, the 408 is a beast, but with a srt running 18-20lbs would probably be right next to it, the turbos will help.. just remember Tubos have lag, and SC dont, and the amount of HP you gain froma SC doesnt even affect the loose of HP from the belt. If you have a 408, you can get a new pulley running crazy boost and not even have to worry about the HP loose from the SC..

Well one thing I have heard really good things about is STS turbo. You don't even need 12-16 psi. All you need is like 7-8 psi with a little bit bigger fuel injectors. And with the STS turbo you don't have to worry about room because you mount it in place of your muffler/cat. People have said they are better than s/c.
thats because its mounted so far back. u supposedly loose 1lb of boost but ur temp decreases 100 degrees or so and thats good for 50hp?
im not sure they makes a kit for the truck.
id go with users way. he was the one i listened to when i had my truck
