Default Brake Lights Sticking

So after I hit the brakes, park the truck, and turn everything off, my brake lights are still on. I even tryed pulling up on the brake pedal to see if that fixed it. This only happens sometimes, not all the time. Whats goin on here? I've been told its the brake light switch, but im not so sure. Any other ideas?

thats the first thing i would check, if it ws a short, the lights would be on all the time, or if the ground was bad, they wouldnt come on at all

Well they just seem to stick. I mean after a while they will go off and work normally again.

yea there would be a box lookin thing on the stem of your brake pedal. It twists off and it is connected to a wire harness. Look at the button thing to see if it sticks. I found this thing when I was working on the remote starter system. Remember...when the button is pushed down, the lights go off.

I'll try with some wd40 and see if that works. I mean if the brake light switch went wouldn't they be sticking all the time.

shouldn't be hard at all. I mean the harness removal would probably be the most pain in the ***, but I think that harness is one of the easier ones to disemble. I think it's one of those lock type harnesses.
