Anyone know it these two trucks use the same frames?
1) Super Cab 4x4 97-04
2) Crew Cab 4x4 97-04
For the sake of arguement we'll assume both to be v8/automatic. Are both of these 130.9 (131) wheelbase? My 98 Service Manual doesn't show a Crew Cab. When did the Crew Cab appear?

I'm new to Dodges/Dakotas and if I find a wreck of either version needing a frame I want to know my options.

Thanks,
Steve

regual cab front seat is the smallest cab 97-04
Club cab is a 2 door with a back seat from 97-04
Quad Cab is a 4 normal size door truck with a 5ft something bed 00-04

I take it you have a club cab and i would recomend gettieng another club cab frame, the quad and club are the same length frame but have may have different body monts. Also in 03 or 04(i never remimber which) they changed the suspension so the monts may also be different.

Actually I have a nice 4x4 Club Cab parts truck, no motor, busted transmission and cracked transfer case, no front sheet metal. I'll be shopping the salvage sales to find something to use my parts on. That's why I was wondering if I could use my frame on a '00 up Crew Cab or not.
Thanks!

Are you a Ford guy?

Just asking because you keep using the Ford terms for cab styles.

Actually yes, I have had Fords for years. Ford just doesn't make a mid-sized pickup with a V8 so I'm trying a Dodge. A family member has had several Dakotas (v6 4x2's) so I'm giving them a shot.
Club Cab=Dodge Super Cab=Ford
Quad Cab=Dodge Super Crew=Ford Crew Cab=older Ford
I guess my Crew Cab was a variation of Fords terminology. I'll try and do better!

I think you will find them very nice, especially the power you can get out of a mid-size truck.

When it comes to a full size truck you'll never get me to put my F150 Super Cab 4x4 anywhere but 1st. Dodge fills a need in the midsize market with a v8, something Ford hasn't seen fit to do. Hopefully I can coexist with you guys and have the benefit of your knowlege to make my Dakota experience a favorable one. Peace!

My wife has always had Bronco II's and now a Mustang GT. She says my F150 is too big for her to drive comfortably. I need v8 power to occasionally pull a car trailer. Dakotas are more the right size for her (she' only 4'11') and powerful enough for me ..... so here I am. BTW, this is the last one we repaired, back in '03. That WAS a nice truck!
