what size do you wanna put in it? if its the 5.9, you will have to do alot to the front end. it will be easier to convert it to a straight axle if its a 4x4.

or you can go with a 3.9 I4 cummins and put some boost to it and make alot of power and not worry as much for the weight. I'm rebuilding my 3.9 cummins and putting head studs in it so I can TT it and get 60+ psi of boost. and still get 27+ mpg

and there is no kits out there at all for diesel swaps. you pretty much have to make as you go.

id prefer the 3.9 to avoid hacking away at half the truck, its not 4x4. How far have you gone with yours? do you have pictures?

is you are putting in a cummins I believe the i6, is too big, and you have to move the dash back wards a bit but Im not sure. Check out the sidewinder projects. (Fastest diesel truck. )

I just have the motor in the middle of the rebuild. hasnt even touched the truck yet.... now since I just bought a 90 dak, I'm thinking on putting it in that one now.

but my buddy has a 88 jeep camanche 4x4 with a 3.9 cummins stock motor and putting out 48psi and it does about low 15's in the 1/4 mile. he's the one that got me into the diesels. so I'm not an expert on them just yet. I only know the basics.

I've never heard of the 3.9L diesel engine, let alone a swap. Does anyone have any links to the engine or the swap. It sounds interesting, but I'm not gonna swap that into my Shelby.

I know this wont help you at all, just want to do it more, but inthe Feb. '08issue of Truckin, some dude did a straight axle and cummins swap in his dak. The little article said it was the 5.9l, 12 valve Cummins turbodiesel. It sounds like there was quite a bit of customization along with custom rad. and intercooler. I'm lookin at it rigt now and its BITCHIN!!! Wish they would do a full spread on this truck.

you can do a 5.9. but I think you have to push the firewall back. just buy a ram with a 5.9 cummins in it, it will be alot cheaper. SAS conversions run around 10k alone.

So, is this something that can be done to a 04 QC 4.7L 4X4?? I would be interested in the 3.9L cummings!! Once I get some serious mileage on this 04, or gas prices shoot through the roof like there supposed to. Thanks
