Coolant loss

Default Coolant loss

99 Dodge Dakota 5.2 loosing coolant in recovery tank. I just filled and 3-4 days later it is empty. Anyone have any ideas. Thanks.

CHECK YOUR OIL. Your head gasket could be gone and well, you might have some problems. Check for leaks bellow the vehicle start it up and let it idle for a bit if nothing in the oil or oil in the coolant. (Has to get to operating temp.)

Check your recovery tank has a leak in it too. When I had my Neon, the bolts that hold the recovery tank, broken and it was loose, so it touched the manifolds and melted a hole in it.
