High Idle On Cold Start???
idk if the 3000 was a typo but lately mine has been idling at about 1000 rpms at first start up, its normal jsut the computer trying to warm up the engine, once its warm the computer lowers the idle to save fuel
it should idle around 1000 when cold, about 600 when warm. anything else is a bad iac. while it is a good idea to clean the TB and the iac port on the back (with iac off), when the iac has malfunctioned (like yours has) i think its a waste of time to clean it. just replace it. when it goes on the blink, the little motor and feedback circuit has gone bad. cleaning won't help.
not a typo. it's idling a 3 grand when cold. I pulled the iac and cleaned everything up, but no luck. that's why I was wondering about a troubleshooting procedure to verify that the iac is fried before I replace it. I've seen guides for other makes of cars, but not Chryslers, and I don't have a shop manual for this truck.

ok the best i can give you on that is that if when you pull the IAC out it should move in and out freely, if it doesnt then its going bad, should take a little effort but not much, and it really is a cheap part like $20 or $30 at your local auto store, not hard to change either,
p.s. when you put it back in after moving the plunger in and out you will need to be on the gas to start the truck, and it will die when you let off the gas, the second time you start it, it should be fine

have you reset the ecm after the tb cleaning?..., also if you change the iac, reset the ecm the truck will re-learn..also check the tps sensor, SHOULD be at .3-.8 at idle, (do this by going center pin of tps to ground)
id reset the computer first...
