Default head light issues

so i havea 2000 dak 4x4 with the 4.7 and my headlights are really weak. it almost seems like it is just the running lights but they suck something fierce. my high beams are amazing . anyone have this issue and is it simply fixed by changing lamps or do i need to look deeper.
thanks

to pitkannen44flyers if you have a friend with a dakota park them side by side pointing at a wall both with the headlights on the same setting then you can see if yours are off, and how much they need to be adjusted by, thats what we did when my dad had to replace his headlight

Mine seem to work fine. I used to have trouble seeing on backroads a bit, was always concerned about hitting deer and such. A pair of $20 offroad lights, and swaffing out the 55w bulbs for 100's seemed to do the trick!

shropstroefoer : that method works if you have a 75+ foot straight, level, driveway, most people dont...
