will the rear brakes from another dak bolt up in place of the drums?
what will be needed to do it?

theres a good chance i'll be narrowing my axle soon so an entire axle won't be out of the question

 

What do you mean? All dakotas our Gen and previoushave drums in the rear. I think even the new style (05-up)ones do but not sure. They make rear disc conversion kits, but they are quite pricey.

 

didnt 03-04 have rear disk brakes.

some models have disc,some have drum.my 04 regular cab has drum,but my freind at church has an 03quad cab with disc.don't know why they build them different.a complete axle swap would do great and may even be cheaper than a conversion kit-the kit will run about a grand.

 

Are you sure?? I am almost positive they all have drums. I could be wrong though.

 

the 03/04's had dics options. i found out that you can swap 'em out. maybe next summer i'll do a full brake upgrade to an 03/04 setup
or i'll do it this summer.... depends on a few things
