Default Neon Lighting

Im lookin into getting a set for the dakota. Blue in color. But im just curious as to what you guys reccomend as to where to tie the wires into. There's probably wires underneath for the park lights, so im thinking I could probably tie into those. Or any other suggestions? Also, how much amI lookin at if I get these things professionally installed?

You must notdo any off roading if you plan to put neon on a Dakota. We put blue neon under our Corvette. If you want to tie it into your parking light wiring, you should use a relay. Use the parking light switch to trip the relay, but use a fused dedicated wiring source to power the neon. It is relatively easy to install neon. Routing wiring neatly takes the most time. I don't know where you live, but here in Pa., the police frown on any vehicle moving with neon on. You can sit in a parking lot with no problem, but on the road you get pulled over. For the expense of the product, I'm not sure I'd waste my time on a daily driver.

Stop talking to your friends with Honda's, Acura's, Mitubishi's, etcwith big wings and enough strobing/flashing lights to set off a siezure, and step away from the neons......

Please don't cross over to the dark side.

Neons = Waste of money and people laughing at you. Sorry, just trying to help.

the only reason i would think about neons would be white ones with tough casings for working under you truck at night or if you offroad a lot and would break down and need to work under it when its dark out. only use for them imo if that even validates them. but if you like the look go for it.

DO NOT get neons .... Get LED's they are far tougher and will not break/crack as easily ...
Neons are dead ... LED's are the way to go ...

Still a complete waste of money. Save your money and buy a decent upgrade for your vehicle. Please don't fall pray to the fads, the "Fast and Furious" mentality, the phenominon known as Ricers.

Resist the urge.

LMAO, I really wanted to say pretty much what everyone else has, but I decided to be nice. We have a Blue1984 Corvette that we take to car shows rarely, and we use blue neon underneath to highlight the undercarriage. It is a pain in the *** big time, and I would NEVER put it on a daily driver, ESPECIALLY a truck. If you want something tolight under the truck at night while you work on it , get a flourescent 12 volt light that plugs into the lighter or power point. I never worked with LED's in a automotive installation, so don't know if they'd hold up better or not.

Haha I love the movie fast and furious. But just to clear one thing up.......... I HATE IMPORTS. ESPECIALLY RHD. If I could punch the driver in the face and get away with it, I would. Especially the sound of the exhaust, sounds like someone is drowning in their bowl of cereal.

I think i'll take your guys advice and move away from it.

Heh, yea neons are dumb and you live in calgary, they would just break, a rock hitting it anything like that. Smash, and bam goes your money. but I do agree with ricers using these, don't. Here you will get pulled over too i believe and have to remove them.
