Default Aluminum Driveshaft?

I overheard a coworker today talking about getting an aluminum driveshaft for his car. I thought I might ask if anyone here has done this to their Dak. Not sure what problems it might lead to or if there are any at all. I dont really tow/haul much weight around or race it. Just the occasional burnout/red light launch. Maybe do that about 2 times a month. Not really sure if the costs involved would be worth it either.

I dont know why I didnt do this first but I did a google search for 'dakota aluminum driveshaft' and came up with some info. Apparently r/t's have them(some if not all) andI read thata few other people had them put on their trucks. Did not read all the results so I didnt see too much about the costs involved or what kind of results they had. I'll look a little more after I put the little one to bed. Just hope she doesnt poo in the crib like she did to the wife earlier today! (Glad I went to work)

i've heard nothing but positives, except one negative
when you lay the truck to the ground (like in my sig), the aluminum one has clearance issues. i think.

It does not gain power but has A lighter rotational mass so it does not require as much power to rotate the shaft. It is like putting lighter rims on the truck.

Same here. First time I crawled under my truck I was like, "dang that thing is huge!"
