Default This Bites! (Exhaust)

I just got my Magnaflow cat-back in yesterday after waiting 3 weeks for shipping and got it installed. It has a good tone, but it is way too loud for my taste. Worst $525 I ever spent.

sorry to hear that! now i know what not to get...JCWhitney has a bunch of complete exhaust systems for $300 and under...i havent done it yet, but i still think im just going to replace the muffler for under $100for some sound and call it good. like others have said here, the bottom line is sound when doing exhaust because the performance gains are so not worth the cost. with $525 think of all the little things a person could do...

My dak has a magnaflow muffler on it singlein/dual out with either 2.25 or 2.5 inch tips and its not obnoxiously loud ot too quite. Im not sure how much it cost though because i got the truck used and it was on there when i got it. IT had a magnaflow replacement cat and just the muffler. So, it couldnt have been that expensive.

What type of setup is it? did you dual it out? what size pipes did you run? This all will play a major roll in how loud your truck is.

Hmmm, I have the Magnaflow cat-back single out and don't think it is that bad. I'm pretty sure mine was just over $400. Compared to some of the flowmasters I have heard, I think it's pretty mellow. Just my opinion.

I had a hi flo cat and magnaflow 18" muffler single in dual out and it was pretty loud, but not loud enough to drive you nuts.

on the ram I'm either gonna go with a11" or 14" muffler, dunno yet.

thanks I miss driving the dak though...

and she has alot of *****. but not as much as I thought it would have. cause when ever I used to floor it in dak, it would throw you back in the seat, and it would shift hard. the ram takes off like hell but it doesnt give you that tourqy feeling of throwing you back in the seat. but it has alot more power then the dak.
