Yeah im starting to think about that but i do want a big block in there
Well if you can get a used block, than you can build it up for less than 16k. That way you also get what you want. I think doing that will be way better, more work, but exactly what you need. You can get the headers, heads, ect.. I would just do that, make sure the block is fine...

Cams, heads, intake, rockers, exhaust, forged pistons, stroker kit, high steel forged crank.

Thats all I can think but if you want a 5.7, you can build up a 5.9, to put up more power, it's 345 cu inch to 360 cu inch. But hemi does sound cool If not get a 6.1 than it would be very cool, but you have a LOT of work ahead of you I would suggest selling yours getting a 4.7 dakota and than doing a hemi drop. That way you only have to change the engine not the tranny, half the wiring, ect...

Depends on what engine you get. I believe the 426's in the muscle car era came with a 727 followed by a 8 3/4 rear. Your best bet for simplicity's sake would be to find a junkyard with a car that has a 426, take the engine, trans, and rear end. And then have them all rebuilt. You will probably need to get a custom driveshaft made for it to work. Even with all that I'm sure that it would cost less than 16k compared to if you were just buying a custom built 426. at least that way you'll have the whole powertrain and not just a really expensive engine.
