there is no 5.9 hemi so im assuming you mean the 5.7 hemi. I can tell you right now the frame rails on the dak arent wide enough for any hemi to fit and i would think you would have to buy custom motor mounts. There may be enough room long ways if you ditch the clutch fan and shroud in favor of a very powerful electric fan.

It all depends. I would start with a 6.1L block, and build it up. But I would still suggest buying a 4.7 Dakota that way most of it will mate, but if you go with the 426, the 727 will even bolt up-to your current engine. While your getting your engine rebuilt you can be doing axles and transmission. Still Drive when ready drop the engine in.

wow! if you have the money, it sure would be a one of a kind. if i had 16k to spend on my truck id probably get a crate 360. they have near 400hp and cost less than half of a 426, plus a 426 weighs a ton, the power to weight ratio is better on the crate 360, plus you wouldnt have to beef up the suspension to handle all that or do a ton of mods to make a 426 fit. with the leftover money, id hook up a built tranny and rearend and still have money leftover to do cosmetic stuff...but thats just me.

Screw the hemi, drop a Turbo charged Cummins in, that'll wake it up.
