Default Subwoofer placement

I have a 01 quad cab, I have subwoofers in it already, 2 10's in a large box, I had to take the box out and put it in the bed for a road trip so that dogs would have some where to sit, (I have a hard cover over the bed) I have a 4 year old daughter that sits in the back, so there is just enough room for her car seat with myspeakers back there,I liked the fact that i had my backseat back, but i did kinda miss my subs. I know they make a box that fits under the passenger seat that holds a single 10' but thats kinda lame. Is there anyone out there that has made a box that fits atleast 2 10's in the small gap behind the back seat? or anywhere else INSIDE the cab for that matter???

Good luck....you WILL not find one....I came to the conclusion I would need to do what you did....I decided to run a 12W7 being a really solid single 12 and purchased a Fusion NV2500.1d to run it so it would have all the juice in the world....figure with one good sub and lots of power it will do what I need it to do and its in a small sealed enclosure that is small enough to move around or take out myself if need be.....the only thing I have seen otherwise is to remove rear seats and go that route....obvisouly you will not do that or at least im not willing to lose my back seats.....my enclosure is small enough that it fits in the middle of the back seat and 2 people can still sit on either side....good luck for whatever you decide!

im in the same situation i have a box for two tens and the box is roughly 28x14x18 and it takes up the 60% side of the seat but the box is reomvible and i can throw it in the bed when ever. some guy down the street from me made a custom enclosure that was bolted in his bed and he joined the cad and bed with a port...i hear him go by all the time and he says the whole cab is one big port. all he has are 2 JL 10" W3 with a 1600watt kenwood amp he told me that he took the bed off and cut a 12"x12" whole in the bed and cab at the same spot and when he put the bed back on the whole was sealed together with rubber and hush foam it sounds amazing natesdakota has a good idea but if you dont mind loosing a tiny bit of your bed space u could do that

Unfortuantly I have seen this done twice.....you are basically hacking up a truck when you do this so unless you have a professional or feel really confortable doing this to a newer truck....power to whoever....honestly isnt all the great at least in my experience....sounded ok but not worth destroying a truck over.....what I do sounds DAMN good and can easily be moved around or taken out by myself.....its more of a pain in the *** and I wish there were more room under the seats but oh well? Have to buy a new truck I guess!

there is one that you can buy from www.crutchfield.com it fits directly under the rear jump seats and you can still use the seats it is about 600 dollars and it comes with the subs and amp here is a link so you can judge them for yourself. http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...P2T&tp=113. and this one also i think that they are the same but i do not really know. i am thinking about these becasue i have a club cab. hope this helps. http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...2AT&tp=113

THose links are only good for people with a club cab.....I actually bought one and thought I could make it work for the quad cabs.....absolutly NO go! THere is an MTX Thunderform for a single 10" but you lose the backrest parts of your seat on the smaller side....and looks GAY IMO.....there is honestly nothing you can do unless you lose your rear seats.....do what I do....Make a sub enclosure to sit between your seats or in some sort of center console.....good luck!

just make something. its the only way.
im putting 2 12's in my reg cab

and blow-throughs are nice but they are tricky to do and not hack it up.
to do it best you would need to unibody your truck whick looks killer, but is not simple, cheap or quick.

under the seat is a good idea if you just want subs and a lil bit of bass. youmight as well upgrade your door speakers and add some tweets and6x9's and put them on an amp...to get the subs ot hit your gonna need some air volume...i got to talking to the guy about his situation with subs in the bed...and his dad works in a body shop and it can be fixed cheaply (only for him) if you have access to a body shop or are good friends with someone that is you can repiar it failry cheap...the only reason im not b.c im trying to sell my truck check the link

the best way would be to make an angle l box that has one sub firining up and the other one against the driver or passenger seat. i have an extended cab and im sure as hell not gonna spenpd my money on the thunderform when i have two good 12's so im making one like that ill post pictures during and after being made now that the temp is up past frezzing here
