Default Durango rear end

Does anyone know if a 9.25 rear out of a98 Durango will fit a 99 Dakota? Calling around the junk yards only got me more confused. They say the interchange lists Dakota only for the rear ends.

spring perches are on the bottom for a durango and on top for the dakota. but i don't see why you can't just flip it over.

Some dakots have the spring perches on the bottom, mine does. Some durangos have the perches on the bottom like my brothers 9.25 had the perches on the top.

I think all Durangos were spring under designs (the springs bolted to the bottom of the axle). Durangos also used the spring perch as the lower shock mount. You have have to have lower shock mounts welded to the axle tubes to fit into a Dakota, since our shocks are mounted directly to brackets on the axle, correct?
