Would any throttle body 4.7,5.2, or 5.9 from a dakota or ram work on the switch onto a 3.9. i was just wondering because if i got it from a dakota i probly wouldnt need the trottle cable Right? also does it matter what gasket i get for it or are all the v8s and v6 the same gasket?

 

5.2 and 5.9 will work, you will need a throttle cable for the 5.9 throttle body for sure not sure about the 5.2.... Don't think you do.

 

thanks, do you know about the gaskets, and will the stock intake work on it im going to upgrade but for now ive only got the stock.

Should work, as long as it is a 5.2 magnum... Not an la, not sure if the la's were EFI either way...

It's basically the engine before magnum and what the magnum evolved from.

But that one if it is for sure a 1997 it will work.

 

i bought it from JOhns auto salvage and they said it was a 97 so i think thier pretty accurate. i just wasnt shure if thier was like a whole different design before the magnums that i could tell.

 

Ok. one last thing the TB will work, but as for the cable which one do i have to buy the one coming from the straight back seems to work but thiers two up front one that goes to the right passanger side(BTW where does thatgo?)and one that goes to the drivers side which im assuming is the accelarator cable. just making shure I havent got a chance to go to the store and just wanted to make shure im buying everything so i dont have to go back.
