Default 4.7 HO

Hey guys, I've been doing some research and was curious if anyone knew if the 2002 Jeep 4.7L HO intake manifold and cams will work in a 2000 Dakota 4.7?

As far as I know there are no differences in the Jeep 4.7 and the truck 4.7. I don't know what if any performance improvement it would give you, but the parts will work.

From what I have read, the HO engine has about a 20-30 HP over the regular 4.7L. Thanks for the input guys. Now I just have to find the manifold and cams....lo luck so far

Yea, there is someone who did this I forget their user name on here.... Maybe they will chime in. They said a large increase in throttle response and were quite surprised...

You might have better luck finding a HO engine, than stealing parts swap over and put your old parts in the other engine.. and sell the other engine and you get probably a close to free upgrade...

I dont really live in a place where I can have a spare engine and I dont have the money to buy a whole other engine but I do have a friend who works in the parts department at the local Dodge dealership. He usually gives me a pretty good discount on parts and labor

The part that is left out of that write up is what I was really curious about....how do you hold the secondary chains in place to remove the cams without the tool? I guess a good stout clothes-hanger would work....
