water down the throttle body?
has anyone here ever poured water doun there throttle body, to steam clean the inside of there engine? i have gotten water down the the tb on my 97 dak and it bent 2 rods, i say it is because water does not compress like air, but i see in the durango post it is highly recomended to pour water in the tb to clean the inside of your engine. what do you guys think?
uhh... thats the most idiotic thing to do EVER
do you know what hydrolock is? Water gets in the motor and the motor is now a paper weight..
stupidest thing i have ever herd in my life...
use seafoam if you want to clean your engine.. can be bought at wal-mart or local auto stores..
can be used to clean oil, injectors, and burn out the build up in the engine slowly injecting it though your vaccum line... and holding it at 2-3k rpm
do a search on it before you use it, and for god sakes dont ever pour water down your throttle body.

yeah in that thread he say 2 cups of water won't hurt. i myself use the snow perforance water/meth injection, but that is different than pouring 2 cups of water in.

you are the most retarded person I know. Water DOES not COMPRESS OR CLEAN anything only thing it will do it **** your engine over. Your engine needs a rebuild 2 rods is a BAD thing. These engines are one of the best ever built, but water and an engine doesn't mix. WHOEVER said that is a MORON! If I did that to one of my engines I would have to slap myself for being stupid. WATER does compress and neither does a liquid you hyrdolocked it and it's going to cost you a lot to fix it. You might as well buy a new engine and truck. You should not trust yourself, bring it to a mechanic. Seafoam is FLAMMABLE, it will work, but you can do the same thing but hydro lock is stupid. Rods will bend. So don't touch your engine, let a mechanic do it. U will just break it again. You are dumb. You obviously don't know what you are doing so check out a mechanic before even touching I d get someone to check your engine for oil.
i dont know how these engines are or if they can take a little water, they are different than the old carberatedmopar engines i used to have, but i used to pour just a little bit of water down the carb once in a while. (just a few drops at a time with the engine running and rev it so it didnt stall).at the time it was said that it would knock the carbon buildup off the valves. black smoke would come out of it while i did that and it ran fine afterwards...i know fuel injected cars are different so i probably wouldnt be doing that unless i knew for sure it worked.
i read hydrashockers claims, and that is exactly what i used to do to my older carberated 318's and 340's. the results he claims are the same ones that i always heard. like i said, these engines are way different and id like to hear some facts before i was to ever try this, but logically thinking, i dont see a problem with it as long as you dont pour a gallon at a time down there. the water is just going to turn to steam, evaporate, and blow out the exhaust.

lol varsis, on my 97 i didnt pour the water in there on purpous i got it in ther while driving through a shallow stream. my point was that the durango section moderator is telling people to pour distilled water down thier tb, and saying no harm will come of it. i own quite a few of these rigs and a few older mopars, and i would never intentionally pour water in the tb or carb, like i said earlier i think a fine spray would be fine. like a water/meth injection, but pouring it in, you just might get to much. that was the reason i started this thread, i wanted to see how many other people thought this was wrong, besides me.
