Im looking for a new look to my dak and I like the whole shaker hoodlook,.. now is that just a hood with a whole that comes with a different intake system or dose that need a whole different engine sorry if the question is stupid... thanks tho

 

it is a hood with a whole intake system, no need to change the motor.

yea, your intake has a ram air hat installed on it and that sticks through the hole, its called a "shaker" because it shakes with your engine, they look sweet

BUT says for the 5.2/5.9 only ... So a shaker hood wouldnt work on a 4.7L ??? [&:]

 

no it would not work on a 4.7 because the 4.7 has a different air induction system. however, I am wondering if it would work on a 3.9 since they are basically the same.

wink-i dont think it matters what air induction system is on it, all the old stuff comes off anyway and the new filter and shaker housing sit on top of the TB and sticks out the hood.

 

im betting it could be modified to fit

 

yea but the 4.7 has a completely different intake manifold, im sure that shaker part bolts in there somehow and it wouldnt work with the 4.7 manifold. I'm saying the 3.9 is essentially the same manifold just smaller.
