My '97 CC with 5.2L gets about 16-18 in town (depending on A/C use). "Town" is suburban/rural, and not like metro Atlanta traffic or anything like that. My commute is about 10 miles and it takes me 30 minutes, so it's not all interstate and not all traffic. I'm currently getting a touch below 16, but the A/C's been on blasting for the last month or so. In more moderate climates, I'm running closer to 17-18 in town.

Bone stock everything (except a cold air tube from the factory air box forward to the grille). 10W-30 Shell Rotella in the crankcase and ATF+4 in the transmission.

 

16 in town, can get 22 on the highway if i don't speed

3.9 2003 automatic club cab, no performance mods

 

18-20mpg

 

At least it's safe to say Dakota's get better mileage than Rams, but who can hate on a Ram with a Hemi?

 

I'll agree with the Hemi comment. My sister's husband has a Durango with the Hemi. He loves it. It is great for pulling his Baja Islander. Actually gets some decent gas mileage.... for a Hemi. He wouldn't trade it for anything.... well... almost anything.

 

Read sig for truck, 18 highway, 13-14 street, 10 when I drive "normal".

 

Same mpg as ccrunnerabove...same engine too!

Got a whopping 9 on the highway...through the mountains...towing about 2500 pounds.

living in chicago has its downside (TRAFFIC). the overhead display in the truck says 9.4 average MPG. this is partially because i do A LOT of city driving in grid lock in chicago, and i'm sure the fact that i do AT LEAST 1 big smokey burnout a day contributes to that as well. haha.

i get 16 to 17 highway. 03 dakota r/t.. chicago area.. nice thing is its at 80mph.. i sware i get better milage going faster in the truck. then slower speeds... i went to memphis and i was getting closer to 19 to 20 going 90. stop and go, forget about it. i might as well put a hole in the gas tank.
