I've been stumbling around throughout the Dakota section of the forum, and have noticed a wide range in MPG. I personally have a 03 Quad Cab w/air intake and dual exhaust running at 14-17 MPG in town/light highway and recently maxed at 21 MPG on pure highway.
before any modifications, I was getting 11-14 mpg... is this normal?
How many MPG do you get?
only time i granny foot it is when a cop is in front of my otherwise its useally going about 90mph or more on the highway, and city i go the speed limit.
i get about 15-17 aournd town(not really city, but definetly not highway) and like 20 on the highway(with 3 ppl and luggage and AC on prob better if i was alone)
btw thats a 4.7L v8
my dad gets 16 period end of story thats a 3.9 v6 in a quad cab 4x4 same in the city as on the highway
15.4 MPG since I moved to the mountains of Utah. 18.2 when I lived on the sandbar called Florida. I ran the air most of theyear in FL, not so much here in UT.
marchant- your poor mileage is probably due to the fact that you have a 3.9 in a quad cab. I usually get about 18-21 mpg with probably around 70%highway 30%city. i dont baby it either.
Yea, I was almost certain of that. I've just heard a lot of extreme cases and mechanic buddies have been baffled as to why I get the mileage I do, so I figured I would give it a little comparison. Thanks guys.
