sounds like a bad PCM to me.

EDIT: Try resetting the PCM and see if it goes away. If not looks lie you might be buying a new PCM.

reset it yesterday, came back today.....

i want to try to unplug the pcm, and plug it back in? is that cool?

what about the battery? i am currently using a scanner rented from autozone.....

ive been looking around on goole, and everyone says pcm fried time for a new one... eek!!!!!!

is it possible it got fried while changing sparkplugs? my father in law has done his plugs and wires several times and thinks he may have an issue... the engine runs a little rough and he thinks that he has a plug that came out or a broken wire? could a bad pcm do this? is it possible he freid it? he has tried disconnecting the battery several times to fix it, and i am not sure if this is what hurt it or not. it is the only code showing

i doubt a reflash will do it, most of the time from my understanding, they just burn out.

id give them a call with your VIN and ask em how long will it take for the repair, etc. do your homework first before you commit to something. benefit so much better doing that.

may not need to buy a new one!!!!!

i met master tech, and he reprogrammed the computer using the drb3 scanner.

the CEL went off of wednesday and hasn't been back since. [prior, i could disconnect the battery and it would go away for the first start, but promptly come back on by the second start]

My FIL was able to take the truck to get its smog check, and the CEL stayed off, SO HE PASSED!!!

and was then able to take the printout to DMV and get his registration sticker & renewal on the spot!!!!
