R&R Transmission
Well last the tranny went out. My dad and I replaced it with one that had 45k on it. The whole project went pretty smooth. There were a few times we asked out selves what was dodge thinkin when they did it this way. Well got it off the jack stands and filled it with fluid and off we went. Works great. Will need to replace the upper bank O2 sensor. Busted the clip trying to take it apart. Figured on the last one I would figure out how they work.

I picked mine up from a dodge truck wreckers for 750. Had 45k on the clock. Could have got the low mileage (3K) for 950. Since I had to borrow money for the fix I wasn't going to push my luck. Now it is time to save for tires.

We had an ATV jack that we used as a trans jack. I am not sure where the one way valve was. We put everything back on that we took off.

when i had my trans rebuilt, it would of been about $600 for the heavy duty soft parts with a converter and the one way check valve removed. but since i pretty much grenaded the trans, but in the end with only the case from the trans with all new hard and soft parts plus a HD converter, ran me $2500 plus the aux. cooler install. strongest dodge automatic ive ever come across. over 30K on it, still shifts and lays the power to the axles like brand new still.

it's well worth it for the peace of mind and the fact it's all heavy duty internals. plus the guy had to replace pretty much everything except the case. the overdrive unit was shot to hell. a salvaged case would of been an additional $500 if he couldn't break the overdrive unit off the tail of the case, nice right?
