it's a 1930 model A. he already chopped the top 3". powder coated frame. four link rear suspension and a Dana 44 rear end. he wants 1500 for it. im going o show up at his door with 1000 cash and he'll take it and like it. now, originally i was thinking a nice mopar motor...... but then i thought how much cheaper and easier it is to build a SBF or SBC....... i dunno. remember, i am a college student which = NO $$$$. . i'm pretty confident in my metal work, we moved a firewall back about an inch on my buddy's triumph ( i know i hate the damn thing too) about 2 years ago and i am regularly welding things for all my friends like a roll cage in my friends XJ. let me know what you guys think, im suposed to meet the guy in two weeks.....

As nice as a Mopar engine would be in it, build a nice SBC. Parts are more plentiful, cheaper, and easier to get.

yeah i know. actually there has always been a special place in my heart for the old flat head ford motors. i love they way they sound like motorboats, i just love everything about them, but its not like that would be any cheaper . my friend put a 331 into his foxbody last year and he still has the original 1989 302 5.0 with 110,000 miles on it. he said $200 and its mine. that doesn't sound like a bad idea at all. i know parts for those are dirt cheap and readily availiable too.

Dont do a 302 man, if you do go with a ford motor, go with a 351 modified. To achieve that with the 302, you will spend tons of cash in machine work. You can pick up a used 350 4 bolt main for maybe even cheaper than that.

yeah but this thing doesn't have to run 10's. as fun as that would be i would be happy with a 302 stroked to a 331 with a mild cam, say trick flow stage 2. intake, heads, headers etc etc etc. maybe a 100 shot. that isn't totally out of the question. i am gonna put it on a FAT rear tire. i love the way that looks.
