Default Amp/Head unit question

So guys today I got the wiring kit for my subs and I have done this before and i'm in electronics engineering as my major in school so I have a background of wiring but heres my problem. First off I spliced the blue remote on wire to the amp into the blue wire coming out of the wiring harness, that didn't turn on the amp so I tryed something else. I then tried it to the open fuse in on the fuse box and that turned on the amp everything was working good however my xm uses that slot so i couldnt use it. We ended up splicing it into the red and black wire on the harness which made it work however we took it out for a test drive and i turned the bass in my speakers up a notch and it shut off. I guess i need to check the fuse on the amp but does anyone know the correct wire i should splice into?

If you have an aftermarket radio the remote on wire should be blue with a white stripe. This wire comes from the radio itself not the mating wire harness to match the radio harness to the OE Dodge wire harness radio plug. If you have a factory radio, the remote on wire from it is green with a red stripe. Check it for 12 volts on it only when the radio is turned on. The voltage will not be present when the radio is turned off with its power on/off button (meaning when the iginition is on and the radio power button is off). Same with the blue/white wire on an aftermarket radio.
