it's all in how you drive. If you floor it yes your gonna get ****ty millage. If you drive nice like on the highway (going the speed limit) you can get a fair bit of millage.

You are a dumbass, I didn't say a body kit as in skirts and ****, i'm talking stuff to make the car more aerodynamic. You are so stupid, to even question my knowledge of wind resistance, friction, and all other factors that equate for lower MPG. A body kit, even the rice ones don't weight near as much as the two back seats in a quad cab, the spare tire, etc etc. So your argument adding weight is totally irrelevant.

I like how you just assume i'm a ricer, because I drive a DODGE DAKOTA v8. That's REAL ricey if you ask me.

Look who doesn't know what they're talking about now.
Being a ricer has nothing to do with what you drive, its how you represent yourself in the car/truck world. You think taking off a clutch fan = 1mpg... you think adding a K&N Filter is almost 1 more mpg, and then adding a "high flow muffler" whatever the hell that is do you mean a single chamber race muffler or a soda can with each end cut out? You my friend would believe the ebay gimmicks of the tornado and throttle body spacer, i bet you have one on your truck. Gives you a 13% fuel economy increase, just like your deleted clutch fan did. LOL!!!!!!! No man.. im not calling you a ricer because you drive a Dodge V8 Im calling you a ricer because your knowledge is similar to someone that would put a 5 foot wing on a minivan thinking it would add 50hp and better traction.. -_-

as for the part about the body kit... read the quote below it was taken out of one of your posts, you said "body kit" not a space shuttle mod that know one would actually use, unless you where in an argument on the internet and had to link to something to try to sound like you knew what you where talking about.

LOL! Changed the Wires, how about the plugs, and coil, and cap and rotor? HMM that can play a roll in increased MPG, some people call this a "TUNE UP" if you didn't know? Which can change alot, the ignition system plays a very big roll in Fuel Economy, funny you left this part out...

and changed his driving habits! OMG I wouldn't have guessed.. o wait i already said that was probably one of the factors in the increased MPG...

+1 for the clutch fan? OMG everyone should be doing this then. Explain to me HOW removing the clutch fan gives you +1MPG. In detail explain it to me, i dont think you can. You probably don't even know what a clutch fan is for...

and you are really bad at math. 1+ .75 or 3/4 (which is the same if you didnt know) = 1.75 which is less then 2 and not even close to 3... BUT you could be saying 1 + .75 + .75 (for .75 for each other mod) thats 1.5 +1 = 2.5 not 3...

and well i hate to say this to you buddy, but getting .75 mpg increase from a CAI is a joke.

how long you been working on the magnum engines? Probably not long since it sounds like you still ride a bike and have no idea what an ICE even looks like or how it works.

ill leave this topic open just i can laugh at your next response and so everyone here on this thread can get a chuckle to.

also you have been warned for the 2 flame posts and bad language towards other members and me. Keep it up and your posts will be moderated by me from now on. Meaning every time you want to post you have to make sure its ok with me first like a little baby.

So be nice, so i can continue being lazy and not have to worry about baby sitting you guys.

I thank you at your lack of things to do so you could give me such a wonderfully written novel.

I will not waste my time in responding to everyone, I meant what I said, he got 2, not 3 mpg increase. Big deal, you could get one more by driving slower. Everything you've proved me "wrong" on I was tottally right. Tuneup/vs wire change. Bodykit/spaceshuttle kit. Clutch fan/vs engine fan which is clutch activated. Etc, you are the epitome of ignorance, thanks.

Well let's see here "Tuneup/vs wire change." We'll start with that, here's your first post that started the thread:

Totally worth 17mpg city, or so. My friend did it to his 5.2, 12 city to 15. Pretty good improvement if you ask me.
No mention at all of the tune up, that comes later on page 2, along with admitting that he changed his driving habits.

It's entirely possible to see the mpg increase you quote with only the change in driving habits. Ever heard of hypermiling?

I honestly am not going to find all the numbers.

I'm pretty sure a rear end swap would help gas mileage, and a body kit could help, along with weight reduction.
You don't even indicate a swap to lower or higher gearing instead sticking with the very generic "a rear end swap". Most people know what the standard definition of a body kit is, just in case you don't: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_kit

What the guy was using in the article you linked is a modified tonneau cover, the wheel skirts might fit into the definition of body kit. Not to mention his cover negates most of the utility of a truck making me wonder why he bought one in the first place.

Ah yes, when losing an internet argument act tough and insult those making valid points rather than refute them with actual facts or evidence. We can easily have an intelligent discussion here if you wanted to participate rather than acting childish.

I honestly don't give a rats ***, you fail to realize that. He got what he got, I'm just posting saying so.

Once you get that through your head, you will be better off.

What I'm telling you (and what many others here tried to tell you) is that without doing proper testing and calculation of the mileage YOU don't even know what gave him the mileage, which has become painfully obvious over the course of this discussion. Why would you make a post saying these three things will give you 'x' mpg when you can't even back it up? Of course people will want to see evidence, they want enough information to decide if it's worth it for them. If the reason he got the extra mileage didn't matter to you then why did you state in your first post that it was caused by those three mods?

Stop trying to have the last word/post. I know his numbers, but I don't feel like typing them. He ended up getting like 2.2 mpg more.
