Default Fuel Injector Cleaner?

Which fuel injector cleaner is the best out there?

Ive got 51000 miles on the truck and I think its time. Just wondering which one to buy, there are so many out there on the market its dizzying.

Im talking about the stuff you add to your gas tank...

Thanks in advance!

Jim

i use the lucas upper cylinder lubricant, you can run seafoam through the fuel as well to clean out the system.

seafoam! full bottle in the gas then half a bottle in one of the vacuum hoses that runs to the manifold or pour it in your throttle body.

So that STP stuff is probably no good? I was looking at that today, cuz its a big name and the price was right.

I think I saw that Lucas stuff and I saw Sea Foam too. The sea foam looks kind of hard core. And I dont think I have the heart to drop liquid down my throttle body!

put a straw in the sea foam and suck it in through the brake booster vacuum line its the one connected to the big black round thing on the driver side. Suck half a can into it. As long as you don't just go pour the whole damn thing in the TB and Hydro lock it you should be ok lol..

although its mostly alcohol so even if you did pour it in the tb, i would think after a few hours or days it should be fine... but i don't want to find out...

haha yeah the brake booster line is probably the safer and easier way but as long as you just let the tb suck it in you will be fine i've done it 2 or 3 times through the tb on my jeep and truck and no problems at all.

hehe, I just dont have the stomach for that! I will try the Lucas upper cylinder lubricant right in my fuel tank.

I think that will be alright. I've heard that Techron is good too, but its like 12 bucks a bottle at the parts store and lucas is only 5.

the lucas is really good stuff my grandfather swears it helped his van run a lot better and the seafoam you can use in the gas too i've had success with both in my gas so either or is a good option. with the lucas stuff its almost like a light weight oil its that thick where as the seafoam is like water. i'd suggest getting the big bottle of lucas and using it for 4 consecutive fill ups just to clean everything out really good.
