all I need for the swap is the throttle body, a new gasket and the cable rite? This would be better then doing like a throttle body spacer? I know alot of people dont like them. I though the v6 and v8 had the same size throttle body?
So the 5.2 magnum was last put in the 2000 kotas right? So one from the 2nd gen would work? Just need to replace the throttle cable as well. How about the 5.9 tb? Is there any major difference between the two?
If I remember correctly only 3.9, 5.2 and 5.9 throttle bodies can be switched out. Can someone verify that there 1st gens can use 2nd gens, idk know of anything different or special about the two gens and tb differences?

I believe you are correct- Holley manufactured the castings for all of the 3.9/5.2/5.9 TB's for the same manifold bolt pattern.
The only difference I've seen is the connectors for the throttle cable, but I thought I heard somewhere that a tb from a newer vehicle would make a greater difference than a switch within the same generation

no, the castings were the same that I know of. Yes, the connectors changed here and there, but the castings were the same.
