Supercharge or Turbocharge?
i like a good ole fashion turbo.. bascially you have to let it spool up but that instant trust taht you get from it making the power is addicting... with a supercharger, you ahve to give up power (by turning the belt) in order to make power... sure it is more gradual and begins earlier in the rev range but its ... IMHO just eh...
ask yourself this, why is it that most true racing cars (not just drag) have used turbos while very few use superchargers...?

because thyre built with 2 steps, 3800 stalls, huge gears, trans brakes.... all that serious racing equipment. why do you think there is a huge majority of boosted daks that use a SC?
cuz its easier to S/C than to turbo... basically you get what you put into it... if you do it easy, you don't have that great of a power gain (in comparison) but if you were to turbo, it takes a lot more time and it is much easier to get to where you are making a bunch more horsepower...
with a 4.7 i still say SC you dont have the low end of a 5.9 and it would be nice to gain a lot of low end from it. turbo lag is a bitch and with the 5.9 you can kind of justify a turbo b/c you already have ample low end. on the 4.7 you dont get that kind of torque off the line....

I dunno, it seems anything turbo'd always has problems. Just in my expiernce. You have to wait for it to spool and what not. You will always have boost with a s/c and it seems they always run well. Maybe Im wrong but it just seems anything w/ a turbo never lasts that long.
Its all about prep. If you don't do all the work BEFORE you turbo or don't do it right you will have major issues. A S/C is just simpler to prep and from what Ive seen they don't push HUGH amounts of PSI quite like a turbo.
My roommate had a 94 integra that he was going to turbo. He spend close to a grand for parts to get ready for the turbo! But he was doing it right, new water pump and timing belt, new gaskets and so on.
I still vote for a S/C but I like the S/C whine and the raw simpleness of them.
