Default Supercharge or Turbocharge?

I understand the basic workings of both, i would have someone do the install for me, so skill is not a problem
Which is better for power/price/economy...lol

i would go supercharger. for a turbo you have to wait for it to spool, and a supercharger is power on demand. that said, your not gonna run more than 9 lbs of boost, so why wait? my vote is def gonna be for a procharger system.

I personally would say s/c as well. With a turbo you only get all that power fom a certain rpm up. You won't get anything down low.

But superchargers it HP too. And I think I would be able to get the power up just by revving higher, this would not be for towing applications.

yeah but you would have immediate power off the line with a SC. also, daks dont rev that high so why not have the power all the way through all the RPM?

EDIT: just noticed.......... 500TH POST! W00T W00T! this calls for a beer (and yes i know its only 1:30 in the afternoon.... don't judge me)

I would decide depending on your application. A Supercharge IS going to be easier to install. I believe with a S/C you don't have to line in with the oil pump. Turbo you do, however, a super charger runs off the crank, there are + and -'s to both. If your drag racing get a quick spool turbo, 3-4k rpm range and you will feel that **** pull. S/c Yes it will help in the low end but you are putting in my energy to turn it at the speed. But it's preference too. So tell us what are you planing on using this for?

Yeah, I personally like the S/C for trucks. If I had the 5spd and redlined, then I would prefer the Turbo/

Varsis makes a very valid point! If your just gonna drag it a turbo would probably be best. Especially since a professional is going to install. Im a big fan of superchargers and would love to S/C my 3.9

With that said I do like the instant power of a S/C, tho as varsis said they are belt driven so at idle it probably isnt all that instant. Now you couldnt run any huge amount of boost so that might not be a noticable loss.

Just my $.02

Probably just for the extra power, I would take it to the track every once in a while though. And the occasional street race..shhh

I'll end up installing the supercharger my self. lol
