i drove around without a bed for 2-3 weeks, im know for a fact that you can get to everything you need to from the top and you have no hassles with dropping the tank

Had the same problem with mine. 1999, 3.9 auto, LONG bed.

The regulator finally went out completely and the truck wouldn't start. Fuel pressure reading went up to 100 PSI. Damage to the injectors could occur at that pressure. Fortunately mine were OK. Cost with tow and oil change about 1K!!

Do it before you ruin something else.

JP

PS Mine has about 140K. Just got rid of a 1987(first model year, fully loaded, no power windows locks or seats), had 330K. Original engine, trans and exhaust.

Just curios, but WTH does what cab you have make any difference as far as taking the bed off matter?

replace it or just pay loud to take care of it for you

but seriously, it is better to take care of this problem so that you don't get stuck in the cold minessota winters without a truck know what i mean?

before you pay that 700 tho i would get another quote from somewhere IMHO

the cab on my truck is longer then the cab on batmants truck thus it covers the gas tank more....hint hint...u cannot reach the regulator with the bed off of a QUAD CAB!!!!!
