im planning on putting a winch on it if i get it but the stock one hangs down so you don't have to trim the plastics on the front ... but i plan on getting rid of the plastics and just having the metal bumper part on ... thats why i was thinking of flipping it over and it may mount up about where i need it im sure it will take me getting one looking at it and having a custom shop cut and weld or drilling new holes in the mounting plate on the hitch but either way just an idea think its possible ?

Default Roadmaster Tow Bars: Acceptable option?

This thread is getting a little moldy, but I've none-the-less continued my quest for a suitable tow-hook setup.

I was poking around on the web the other day when I came across some Roadmaster Tow Bars! These things are designed to bolt to the existing frame so you can tow your vehicle behind an RV or something like that.

I'm curious if the forum thinks this might be acceptable alternative to fabricating custom tow hook mounts?

Looks like you could just find a couple of D-Ring's and be in business!?

Thoughts?

Uhhh... what are you talking about... they have several that mount to Dakota.

Specifically, models 266-3 (4WD only; yrs 01-04) and 246-6 (2WD & 4WD; yrs 97-00)
