P1740 A rationality error has been detected in either the TCC soleniod or overdrive solenoid systems.

I have the same code --- also, I am getting engine surges. Not all the time---just at steady speeds when I slightly increase the throttle.

Are you getting this too?

I think it is the TCC Solendoid and not the O/D solendoid as the surges still occur even when I turn off O/D

Anyone else have any comments about this??

Also, I did replace the TPS already.

When you get this code, you'll need to do a torque converter stall test with a drb3 scanner. this tell you if its a pass or fail. If the test pass, then you may need to do an updated plate or spoole valve on the valve body. if it fails then front pump, torque converter and seal kit for the input shaft.

i read this on another site....

The code is thrown because the computer detects a difference in engine speed as compared to vehicle speed which logically leads to a slipping torque converter.

anyone think that i may be getting the code due to my speed sensor not working as mentioned on my other post???? i gotta get the thing fixed either way.
