I think the 3 cats version was California emissions but could be wrong.

A) O2 simms replace O2 sensors and give an "everything's OK" signal to the PCM, therefore you can completely get rid of your cats.

B) i have no idea, my emissions test consists of a computer scan and gas cap check, i dont have to do the sniffer test. i guess, once again, it sucks to live in California

he's saying all 2001 5.9's had 3 cats, and im pretty sure he's right. O2 simms keep the o2 sensor code from comming up and the check engine light. I would say just cut em all off and get a really good hi-flo cat and whatever other kind of custom exhaust you want. I dont know about passing smog because I dont deal with that stuff where I live. But I would say as long as your trucks running right and you have at least 1 good cat on there it should be fine.

there on the exhaust downpipes.. before the ypipe connects...

you can delete them, you only need 1 cat.. it will be fine..

the Mopar PPHs and any longtube/mid length headers deletes them..
