i have a line lock that i brought for a mustang that i sold and was thinking about installing it in the truck since it is just sitting on the shelf. i though it would be fun to smoke the tires in the truck. I have installed line locks before but not on a truck that has ABS. where is the right place to tap in for the line lock without tripping the ABS system. should i tap in before or after the system. any suggestion would be great.
whoa now my 4.7 can spin thru 4th on wet streets haha pretty nasty burnout through second though on dry roads and if the superchips is good for its claims i have a decent amount more horsepower then a stock rt :P
on wet pavement my 3.9 will spin into 4th gear, but thats only one tire of course and spin into 2nd on dry pavement. My 88 pre-mag will spin in 1st gear and chirp if i dump the clutch into 2nd on dry pavement, and thats with a whopping 100 horsepower before you take into consideration the fact that the motor has 250k miles on it, so realistically its probably like 90 horsepower at the crank, 80 at the wheels.
the point of the story is, if you cant spin the tires in a 4.7... you have a problem or you dont know what you're doing.
yea the 4.7 makes MORE than enough power to spin the tires even on dry roads its no problem, and i got a ton of xtrra weight over my back tires compared to you guys
