Default Ball joints; feeling "pop" in steering..

I know my left side is going, but I think my right is. When I turn right, every once in a while I feel a pop in the steering. I haven't rolled down my window to see if I could hear it outside, but I can sure feel it. Is that the right side upper ball joint going? It doesn't pop all the time.. every once in a while.. probably 1 out of every 10 turns or so.. thanks guys

No offense, but if you're that worried about the truck take it in already. You sound like you're paranoid with all these posts, so put your mind at ease and just take it in, especially if you know the left side is going. You don't want to mess around with this, trust me. I knew something wasn't right on mine on the expressway so I slowed down to 65 when my bearing and ball joints went on the left. The shop said the joints were so bad they jacked it up and the wheel just about fell off right there, and these are guys I trust. So take it in and have it looked at, it's better than risking your wheel coming off while driving.

i know.. read a few of my other posts when I have been talking to spear_em.. I WAS paranoid. This was just a question. I was just asking if it was the ball joint on the right side that made it do that. Also, all the dodge dealerships within a 50 mile radius don't have any parts. They got a limited quantity and once they ran out they have been on backorder since. So I can't really just "take it in"

I saw that no one had parts in another post of yours after I posted. Maybe try calling the DaimlerChrysler Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-992-1997 and let them know you need it fixed but all dealerships are out of parts in your area. Anyway I don't know about the popping, I suppose it could be. My bearing went bad, and my wheel started to sort of turn on it's own. If I was driving straight I could feel it turn to the left and wobbling so I pulled off the shoulder and found I had no brakes either, or at least very little. Apparently a brake hose got pinched and the wheel was tilted in at the top. The shop found three of the four ball joints to be bad, so I had all 4 replaced. If you know the left is going bad, odds are the right side isn't far behind. Hope they get parts soon so you can get it taken care of.

Hey, have you made an appointment with any of the Daimler-Chrysler dealerships to get it in? You might want to if you havent..the longer you wait the worse it'll get, and the longer the wait to get in.

spear

yeah.. i'm on the waiting list here in my town. All the other dealerships had waiting lists too. So I am "in line" to get it fixed, just not sure when. It hasn't been bad because I haven't drove my truck since Tuesday and I only drove it like 10 miles max. Wednesday I went to Milwaukee with a Landscape Contractor Equipment School for Toro. My bro drove us down. I was starting to get sick Tuesday night, and have been sick since..really sick. I went to work monday, had tuesday off, wednesday I got paid for going to the school but I was supposed to work thursday and friday (today) but I didn't go in either day. I'm supposed to work tomorrow, saturday, but if I'm still sick then I won't be going in.. Oh, I towed a trailer the otherday with a garden tractor with a snow blower attachment on it and man.. does my dodge pull lol

You can take that truck into ANY shop that does front end work. If it's covered under warranty, that may make a problem for you. Just grab the yellow pages and let the fingers do the walking. I had the lower ball joints go bad on my '99 Dakota and I just paid $368.00 to get them both replaced, front end aligned and a NH Safety inspection done. All in all, not a bad deal.
