I agree with the previous poster - I had a GM product and will NEVER have one again. It was a 94 Z-28 Camaro. Great design, great ergonomics, lousy execution. Broke every time I walked past it. Fortunately I do my own work, and by jaysus there was a lot of that! Head gaskets, Optispark distributor, sensors, suspension, and that 4L60E trans was out TWICE for overhaul.
Buddy has a late model Colorado with the I-5 and he only gets about 1-2 mpg better than the 5.2. He doesn't have the guts to race me! I wonder why.....?
My cars are both Lexus - one's a '98 GS400 and it does a 14 quarter bone stock and gets 22 mpg in town. The Dakota is the truck Lexus would build if they built a truck as far as I am concerned. Great truck.

the 400 came with a 4.0l correct? v8 or v6? He claims v8, but i didnt know Toyota made a 4.0 v8. His **** is in the shop otherwise i would just pop the hood and look. He also tried to tell me the 300 came stock with a 2JZ lol... i don think so, but i have herd the 2JZ will bolt right up into one of those 300s

If your looking for the fastest truck stock for stock its one thing, but all those vids the dakota was highly modified vs a mostly stock lightning.
Look at stock times. Im not real sure on the stock ET's
Also as far as a lightning breaking down halfway down the track. If you look at consumer reviews everyone is a 9 or 10 in reliability

Rangers, S-10's, Tacos, Frontiers, etc, are weekend warrior trucks. I've never seen an S-10 or Ranger I'd drive. the off-road Tacos and Frontiers are pretty sharp, and run forever, but don't have it where it counts for work (axles and springs). I'm going to help an uncle cut and haul wood this weekend...my Dakota and his 2nd gen Nissan Frontier. I wonder which one will be riding on the bump stops coming out of the woods

lets not get into the lightning vs dak r/t discussion. uhg...actually...f*** it lets. some guy argued with me about that today. whyy! ok...the lightning is fords full size supercharged truck..the dakota is dodges n/a mid size pickup...compare them by there classes.....ranger vs dakota = dodge FTW......lightning vs srt10 = dodge FTW......gt40 vs srt10 viper = dodge FTW.....stop comparing our **** to theirs....i just read this....

moe in wichita ks the next time a chevy guy says somthing about the best/fastest car/truck. just ask him how fast the chevys are in NHRAs ss/ah class. the mopars are going 8.30s. NHRA stock rules. ( hint..... there are NONE!)
