It all is a matter of opinion. Every vehicle is. I personally like the Nissan Titan more than any dodge fullsize. The Titan is the truck to get in 2010 because you are mating one of the best powertrains (HEMI) with the Nissan Chassis, which is exceptional.

S10's with V8s are probably the fastest truck ever(besides the SRT/10). They also can get 28 mpg with a 5.3 V8. Go over to http://www.s10forum.com/forum/lsx-discussion/ d see what im talking about.

It'd break down halfway down the track.

I agree with the previous poster - I had a GM product and will NEVER have one again. It was a 94 Z-28 Camaro. Great design, great ergonomics, lousy execution. Broke every time I walked past it. Fortunately I do my own work, and by jaysus there was a lot of that! Head gaskets, Optispark distributor, sensors, suspension, and that 4L60E trans was out TWICE for overhaul.
Buddy has a late model Colorado with the I-5 and he only gets about 1-2 mpg better than the 5.2. He doesn't have the guts to race me! I wonder why.....?
My cars are both Lexus - one's a '98 GS400 and it does a 14 quarter bone stock and gets 22 mpg in town. The Dakota is the truck Lexus would build if they built a truck as far as I am concerned. Great truck.

If you can get enough rubber on the ground and not spin all the way down the track, getting traction with those little toy trucks. There is a vid floating around where a 5.2 gen1 dakota spanks a v8 swap s10.

fastest truck ever is the Banks Sidewinder Dakota with a 5.9 CTD. Cant be beat, and still hold the record for fastest truck and top speed.
