i am going to swap from a 3.9 to 5.9 and was wondering if there is anything that needs to go or change or will everything just mount right back on besides getting new headers

search for my thread, and a few on the internet. There is a few things to consider.
1. Is the plate balanced.
2. 2wd or 4wd.
year, get the same if possible for motor, and from and r/t or get an oil pan, and from a 5.9 ram.

Connections will be the same for certain years, I had to rewire my whole transmission connections except one or two. (Just the connectors.)

yeeah bud just research it a little (here and the internet) and you should be good. many many people have done the 3.9 to 5.9 swap and can give you a ton of help, if you are willing to put in the effort and time requried to make it happen.

look at the flywheel plate when you get the motor the weights should be on the plate. or if not on the torque converter but you can buy a new plate from the dealer or summit even, but watch you don't get a la version. Which I know summit sells too.

it should all be the same because i am getting it from the same year durango R/T but should the gear ratio matter when i put in the engine and what all did you have to do to make your swap work

Well, I had to rewire the tranny half of the harness to make it work, and a new crank sensor as the one I got was shot.. for some odd reason.

But since your getting the same year it should be a simple plug and play. But make sure it has the weights.

What do mean when you say make sure it has the weights. Also i was reading on the internet that you had to change out the computer because the 5.9 puts out more heat and runs different then the 3.9 is that true or should that really not matter.

you need a computer with the motor.

let me find the pic.

look at the weights on the flywheel. those aren't there for the 3.9 or 5.2 but only on the 5.9 but some actually have it on the torque converter.
