V6 or V8
i have the 3.9 v6 in case you forgot. the guy wants mpg so stick with the 4.7.. i dont think hes looking for something thats gonna set him back both in his seat and the wallet at the same time. granted fuel prices are affordable for owning a the 5.9 but you gotta think about the future.

yeah, but good luck with the performance market for the 4.7........ BONED!fail2.gif
What do you mean? I have no problem finding aftermarket parts for my 4.7.
...... and paying twice as much. or not having multiple products/companies to choose from.
Twice as much? I don't know what you are talking about. I paid the same for my CAI as you did. My magnaflow catback didn't cost me any more than the other guy. Cams were cheap...intake was cheap...throttle body too. And you cant beat the design of the heads on a 4.7 so........... to each his own.
agreed, its like two of my friends argue constantly about mustang motors between the modular 4.6 and the 5.0. im an old school guy, i personally like the old school formula of big displacement + (1) big cam and the biggest drag slicks you can find. none of this twin cam bologna.
new dude, first of all welcome to the forum and get a V8, its definately worth it.
V8 FTW. Whatever you do, don't get a I4 or V6. As stated, no MPG benifit for V6 vs. V8.
As far as 5.2/5.9 or 4.7, I guess it's up to peronal choice. 5.9 might have more power, but 4.7L you don't have to get an R/T, and apparently you can get a manual transmission with it. (I didn't know the R/T's were automatic only? Oh well, I'm not a Gen 2 guy)
The 5.2/5.9 has been around for a lot longer. But there are a lot of people with high mileage on the 4.7.
Main thing is to check for main problems these trucks are known for, to see if it's been corrected/fixed or whatever.
