as for getting a 5.9

pfff **** son....everyones got that and every setup is bassicaly the same...blah blah blah
the 5.2 is a reliable engine doont get me wrong....but to get one in a 2nd get dakota...youd be looking at a 10 year old plus truck

the 4.7 was built to take abuse and still come out kickin....if you really want to get to know more about how reliable it is.....i recommend you go here www.AIRRAM.com

and ask Chris about what he has in mond for an intake and TT setup

5.9L are nice and powerful and can be built nicely but for a lil more money and a 4.7L you can whip RT guys asses

i would also like to point out....my truck currently has 193,546 miles on it and it will still pwn ricers

you must be the only guy i know who actually wastes their time with them. i will get them going once in awhile at the lights and the highway, watch them take off. i eventually catch up with them not too far down the road, and laugh at them. pussies..

i love my 4.7 best of both worlds power and stick plus if i'm gonna spend money on making something fast i'd spend it on some type of vw i love all daks but trucks are meant to be 4wd and go offroad imho

i can definatly shed light on this. ive owned a 2001 dodge dak 3.9 v6. and sold it for the 4.7 v8 4x4 quad cab. i love the bigger engine now. and there right as far as gas goes i can't tell the difference at all. def not worth the money to get the smaller size. when u can have all the power and more with the bigger engine.

Pushrod motors are oldschool now. I love them to death. Theres nothing better than a pushrod v8 with an aggresive cam but it is old school. Ford made so much power with a dohc 4.6. They Mach 1 which was basically the Cobra w/out a s/c makes close to the same power as the Ls1, with 1.1 litres less... Ford is coming out with a new 5.0 for next year. DOHC making 400+ hp from just a little old five oh.

Default Thanks

Thanks everyone,

You have made my decision easy, it will be a V8. I will look for the 4.7 since my requirements(4x4 Quad cab) will eliminate the RT.

I live in Wisconsin, alot of snow and mud. I currently have BFG KO's 265/75 R16 on my existing vehicle. Would these fit/look good on a dakota?

Will there be any clearance issues in the front while turning?

Thanks for all of the replys
