I have the same problem, but Mine has never worked.. but works great for the siggy lighter..

I'm going to replace the thing with the version they use for the power outlet, to give me two power outlets.. dunno why but they are different.. and one works for adapters and such (power point) but the cig lighter only works with the lighter.. lol
