Cig Lighter Recepticle
Hey guys,
my Cigarette lighter recepticle just stopped working on me. I use it for my phone/gps/CB radio.
Can anyone give me a quick walk through on what is required to take the old one out? I havnt really messed with it...im out of town and down have all my tools..but would like to replace it before i have to make the 3 day drive home in a few weeks, if its not to difficult.
not sure if it still posts in my sig so its a 1997 Dakota Club Cab, 5speed, 4x4, 3.9L.
I can post more info if needed.
Thanks in advance.

yup, and if its not the fuse. ( i know mine went out some time ago)
and youre sure its the recepticle
this may not be the smartest way to do it but it works great,
remove the fuse, stick 2 fingers in the socket, spread your fingers as much as possible, and pull the whole unit out of the dash...
theres a plug on the back

I'm trying to figure out how you fit two fingers in the socket....
There is actually a plastic puller that inserts in the socket that comes with the replacement. At least in the aftermarket one I bought a few years back had one. I discovered the second power outlet is already wired and went to find a second socket for the Ipod and GPS but had difficulty finding one, in the recent months. Never did get it.
