IMO...that's not a true CAI to me, because it's still drawing in hot air from around the engine block, and the radiant heat off the radiator. That's why i like the idea of being in the grill/ahead of the radiator, or from the front inner fenders, or from behind the lower bumper where the fog lights are. That way it's actually drawing the air from ambient.

yeah but even with the head sheild, the air is still plenty hot under the hood. the only true one is if the filter was where the headlight is which isn't practical on an everyday basis.

Ya know......It doesn't really matter where I put the filter, or if I put a heat shield on it or even if it's really getting cooler air, but I bet ya one thing, it's getting ALOT more air to the the engine than the stock intake was. I put my new TB on Sunday. I love it. I have an appointment Friday to put it on the dyno. I'll let you guys know how it goes. I'll find out whether or not it made a difference.

true that. more air = more fuel = more power. Till the computer says you're out of timing...

if you REALLY want the coldest air then go for a shaker hood. they are the best IMO.
