I would swap in a nv3500 but unless I find a complete write up with all parts and wiring listed, I wouldn't be able to.

This truck should have been a manual from the factory.

R/Ts only came with 46re 4speed auto, basically a 727 with OD... but a p.o.s

Sounds like you either have a short, or your solenoids need to be rebuilt.. not just replaced, Transgo sells a rebuild kit for them, also while your having that tranny looked at i suggest installing a Transgo shift kit, it upgrades the tranny and increases line pressure and makes it VERY reliable.

I just dropped 2400$ to have my 46re rebuilt. Im having a Stage 2 Transgo Shift Kit installed, Solenoids rebuilt by transgo kits, Balloon Plate for N2o, 2800 Stall, and a full master rebuilt, gaskets rings, ect...

It went in on the 27th... cant wait to get that baby back and see how it shifts.

o and the dealership is *ucking you over big time.. DO NOT take it to the dealership they will clean out your pockets and more then likely NOT fix the problem.

You can use a used PCM ive been through about 3 of them, find one for your YEAR out of an R/T and it will be plug and play...

or upgrade to a Mopar Perf. PCM (this is what i use) you can get them for about 125-200 now since SCT it out.

Very good mod for the money, deleted torque management, raises shift points, rev limiter, deletes gov., increase timing... night and day difference.

You will kick yourself in the *** if you take it to the dealership.. mark my word!

Install a shiftkit, upgrade pcm to Mopar PCM, and be done with it...

Thats the problem we couldn't find a short. We've been through all the wiring.

If that mopar pcm advances timing wouldn't you have to run high octane?

And were can I get A Mopar perf PCM?

+1... you could use the NV4500, which came with the 5.9 in the ram from the factory...

Yes it requires 92 or 93, but some have used 89 and got away with no deto/ping

you will have to search the forums

Dodgeforum.com
Dakota-Durango.com
Delphi Fourms
DakotaRTClub.com
Ebay
Craigs
Ect...

They pop up every now and then on these forums. Im sure someone is selling one right now on one of them.

I'm so ****ed I don't even know where to begin. I can't afford this ****. I should just sell this piece of **** as is. ****.

I've been researching this stuff for the last 24hrs I'm sick of looking at this computer.

Everyone on is telling me to do something different not to mention i'm still into this tranny guy for 10 hours of work and still at square one.

And if I go to th dealership I'm going to get raped.

Even if I use the Perf PCm I still don't know if thats the problem. In fact I have no idea what the problem is. I think it's safe to say when the pros can't figure it out your pretty much ****ed.

Basically any move I make I'm screwed.

**** me. Rant over

Did the tranny place give you a quote on how long it would take them to figure it out? I had a place tell me 3 hours max ended up taking 7 but he only charged me for 3 since thats what he quoted me.. i would do the same with this guy.

As far as the codes and the messed up tranny, these trannys are known to **** up alot, thats why i suggest getting a Shiftkit it fixes alot of the issues along with the solenoid rebuild kit, the PCM is just a good mod.

And the wiring in our trucks are all ran together, a short in one of your o2 sensors or a bad ground can cause alot of problems, i had bear wire showing on one of my tranny sensors throwing codes saying my o2s where bad... so i was checking the o2s for problems and spent like 200$ on o2 sensors... come to find out it was a sensor on the tranny, electric tapped up the bear wires and bam the truck ran fine and CELS where gone.

If they drop the tranny checking the harness will actually be pretty easy its just hangs there, unless its a pinched wire in the loom with ALL the wires.. that would take forever to find, but normally that doesn't happen. Around the end of the sensors the wires covers get brittle and fall off and cause shorts.

How many miles you got on it?

The tranny guy said it could take 1 hour or 10 hours. It think his is going to let me off the hook though cause he said not to worry about it yet.

I got 113,000 km. So that's like roughly 80,000 miles. Yeah I'm a canuck.

And the stupid dealership wants $640 for a PCM plus $94 to program plus labor plus taxes.

My goal is to get the place I bought the truck from to pay for everything. That's my first mission which I will do monday since they are closed weekends. If they are stuck with the bill the dealership can take as long as they damn please.

But if the say no I will be going the route you are instructing me to.

OMFG 650for pcm + 100$ for program + 100 labor they charge 90$ an hour minimum as far as i know. thats almost 1000 for a new PCM..

umm no.. do not do that, im willing to bet it probably has nothing to do with the pcm, its a sensor or something... you need to find a good dodge guru around you and let him take care of you, the dealerships are the worst they dont even know half the **** i do or most of the people on the forums.

Mom and Pop shops with a good local dodge enthuiest is your best bet. Look around. Where are you located.. im guessing Canada since your *** backwards with KM instead of Miles... hahahaha jk...
